Terms of Service

In short (the full terms below control):

• RedModel is for authorized security testing only: test what you own or have clear, written permission to test.
• No illegal activity is sanctioned or permitted. Nothing the Service produces is permission to touch anyone else's systems.
• We retain what you share with us (prompts, outputs, intellectual property, technical data like IP addresses) and may use it as described in Section 7.
• We can suspend or terminate any account at any time.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and RedModel ("RedModel", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of the RedModel website, chat, API and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, using the Service (including the free chat without an account), or using an API key, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it, and "you" includes that organization. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract, and you must not be barred from using the Service under applicable law, including sanctions and export controls.

2. What the Service is, and is not

RedModel is an AI model and related tooling intended for internal security testing, red-teaming and adversarial evaluation of systems, applications, models and other property that you own or are expressly authorized to test.

The Service is a research preview. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive or unsafe, and features, limits and availability may change or be withdrawn at any time. Outputs are not professional security, legal or other advice, and you are responsible for how you use them. Access without an account is limited to a small number of messages, and all use is subject to rate limits and other usage limits that we may change.

3. Authorized use only

3.1 You may use the Service only to test, assess or improve the security of property that you own or have clear, current, written authorization to test ("Authorized Property"), and only within the scope of that authorization.

3.2 You represent and warrant that: (a) you own, or have such authorization for, everything you test or submit information about; (b) your use complies with all applicable laws (including computer-misuse, privacy, data-protection, export and contract laws) and with the terms of any third-party service involved; and (c) you will keep records of your authorization and give them to us on request.

3.3 RedModel does not sanction, authorize or condone illegal activity. Nothing in the Service, its outputs or our communications is permission to access, test or interfere with any system, network, account or data that you are not authorized to test. The fact that the Service produces an output is not authorization.

3.4 You are solely responsible for any action you take based on the Service or its outputs, including any effect on systems, data or third parties.

4. Prohibited conduct

You may not, and may not help or encourage others to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates applicable law or anyone's rights;
• access, probe, disrupt or attempt to compromise any system, network, account or data without authorization, including using the Service to plan or carry out attacks on third parties;
• build, deploy or distribute malware or other tools intended to harm, or intended for use against property you are not authorized to test;
• commit fraud, run phishing or social-engineering campaigns against people who have not consented, or harass, stalk, dox or otherwise abuse anyone;
• request or generate sexual content involving minors, content that promotes violence or terrorism, or assistance in creating weapons capable of mass harm;
• submit information you are not permitted to share, including other people's personal data, live credentials, production secrets or third-party confidential information;
• circumvent or probe the Service's safeguards, authentication, rate limits or usage limits, including by rotating accounts, IP addresses or clients, or by scraping or bulk-extracting outputs;
• reverse engineer the Service or extract model weights or system prompts, except where applicable law allows it despite this restriction;
• use the Service or its outputs to develop a competing model or service;
• resell, sublicense or give third parties access to the Service, or share account credentials or API keys, without our written permission;
• interfere with or overload the Service or other users' use of it; or
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

We may investigate suspected violations, cooperate with law enforcement and affected parties, and report unlawful activity.

5. Accounts, credentials and API keys

• Give accurate account information (username and email) and keep it up to date.
• Your password is hashed in your browser before it reaches us, so we cannot see or recover it. We do not currently offer password reset or email verification, so if you lose your password we may be unable to restore your access.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Keep them confidential, revoke any key that may be compromised, and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use. API keys are shown only once.
• We may change or reclaim usernames that are misleading, infringing or offensive.

6. Suspension and termination

6.1 We may suspend, restrict or terminate your account, your API keys, or your access to all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, and with or without cause, including for suspected misuse, violation of these Terms, legal or security risk, or operational reasons. We are not required to give reasons or to restore access.

6.2 You may stop using the Service at any time.

6.3 When your access ends, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections 3, 4 and 6 to 15, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive, continue to apply. Termination does not limit our other remedies. Except where required by law, fees (if any are introduced) are non-refundable.

7. Information you share with RedModel

7.1 Content. "Content" means everything you submit to or generate through the Service, including prompts, messages, files, code, descriptions of systems and test targets, configurations, findings and outputs, and any other information, including any intellectual property or confidential information contained in them.

7.2 Ownership. As between you and RedModel, you keep whatever ownership rights you have in your Content.

7.3 License to RedModel. You grant RedModel a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable and sublicensable license to host, store, retain, copy, reproduce, process, analyze, adapt, create derivative works from, and otherwise use your Content, and information derived from it, to operate, secure, support, evaluate, improve and develop the Service and our models and products (including by training and fine-tuning models), and to comply with law and enforce these Terms.

7.4 Retention. We reserve the right to retain your Content and related records, including logs, IP addresses and account information, for as long as we consider necessary or useful, including after you stop using the Service, after your account is suspended or terminated, and after you delete conversations from your own browser. Your conversations are stored in your browser so you can reopen them, and the messages you send are also transmitted to us and to our service providers to generate responses; we and our providers may store and retain copies.

7.5 Access and disclosure. We may access, review and disclose Content and account information to operate and secure the Service, investigate misuse, comply with law or legal process, and protect the rights, property and safety of RedModel, our users and others.

7.6 Your responsibility. You represent and warrant that you have all rights and authority needed to submit your Content and to grant the license above, and that your Content does not violate the law or anyone's rights. Do not submit anything you are not authorized to share or are not comfortable having retained, such as third-party confidential data, other people's personal data, live credentials or production secrets.

7.7 Technical data. We collect technical and usage data, such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, usage and quota counters, and logs, to operate the Service, enforce limits, prevent abuse and keep it secure. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

7.8 Outputs. To the extent permitted by law and subject to these Terms, you may use outputs for your lawful, authorized internal purposes. Outputs may not be unique, and we do not promise that they are accurate or free of third-party rights.

7.9 Feedback. If you give us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without restriction or obligation to you.

8. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers, such as model-hosting and inference services and infrastructure. Your Content is transmitted to and processed by them to produce responses, under their own terms and policies. We do not control those providers and are not responsible for their acts or omissions. The Service may link to third-party sites, which we do not control either.

9. RedModel's rights

The Service, including its software, models, design, documentation and branding, is owned by RedModel and its licensors, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for authorized internal testing. You may not use our names or marks without our permission.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY AND SECURITY, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. AI outputs may be wrong or harmful. Security testing can cause outages, data loss and other harm, and you assume all risk from your testing and from acting on outputs.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REDMODEL AND ITS AFFILIATES, PERSONNEL, LICENSORS AND PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND USD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so these apply only to the extent permitted.

12. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless RedModel, its affiliates and their personnel from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: your use of the Service; your Content; your testing of any property, including claims by anyone whose systems or data you tested without authorization; or your breach of these Terms or of any law.

13. Changes

We may change the Service and these Terms at any time. When we change the Terms we will update the version and date at the top of this page and, where practical, tell you. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

15. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and RedModel about the Service and replace any earlier understanding. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them freely. There are no third-party beneficiaries. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. "Including" means "including without limitation". We may give you notices by email to the address on your account or by posting them on the Service.
